The Australian Sugar Glider, scientifically known as Petaurus breviceps, is a small, tree-dwelling marsupial native to Australia. They were recently split into three species in 2021, with the Sugar Glider now known to occur only in eastern Australia on the coastal side of the Great Dividing Range. These nocturnal creatures have a membrane extending from their fifth finger to their ankle, enabling them to glide up to 50 meters between trees.
